Les Filles de la Mode: a fashion illustration exhibit by Eva Wilson

Artist Statement

Working on this project was a major growing experience for me. I have always loved drawing clothes and the like, and I had never realized that someone could do it for a living. Once I found out that there was such a thing as a professional Fashion Illustrator, I was sold.

This exhibition is an expression and a celebration of my new found love. The watercolors I did solely for my own enjoyment, and I love every single one of them. They are my joy and comfort. All of the paintings in this show are a step forward in the direction of my desired career after graduation.

I found sponsors who would allow me to paint their outfits, and in return, they would get to keep the paintings. In this, I am already working on marketing myself. They would have them hung in their shops for all to see. A chance to become more than I could have ever dreamed.

I hope that all who come to see this exhibition will leave inspired, because these "Fashion Girls" inspire me every day.
