This special season finale will feature the Red River Chorale, ULM University Chorus, and four high-level soloists. RSO is hosting a full Day of Music where local school ensembles, church vocal groups and community musicians will perform free, non-stop musical entertainment in downtown Alexandria for our community to enjoy. In the week leading up to the performance, we plan a screening of the documentary film Following the Ninth: in the Footsteps of Beethoven's Final Symphony. This film follows the global impact of the piece across five continents and ten countries.

2017 Dr. Mildred Hart Bailey Faculty Research Award

... is given in memory of Dr. Mildred Hart Bailey, who retired from NSU in 1989 with 25 years of service. The award is made for outstanding research or distinguished artistic performance and/or creative work substantially completed furing the past three years. The criteria for evaluating those nominated for the award include scholarly or creative significance; national, regional, or local impact; originality and ingenuity of project design; and crtical recognition by experts in the field.
