Do not miss the Department of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds clinicopathological conference on Ludwig van Beethoven presented by Philip A. Mackowiak, M.D., M.B.A., Professor and Vice Chairman, Department of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine; Chief of the Medical Care Clinical Center, VA Maryland Health Care System. “Beethoven and the Sound that Failed” will be presented on Tuesday, November 17th at noon in the auditorium, room 1-400. The presentation will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble performing selected Beethoven compositions.

Dr. Mackowiak is the author of Post Mortem: Solving History’s Great Medical Mysteries. In conjunction with the Grand Rounds, the library will be showcasing an exhibit that features Dr. Mackowiak and his book which examines the lives and deaths of twelve famous men and women. A related exhibit will focus on medical maladies of other famous people.
